Training and Facilitation
A versatile and adaptable facilitator, I am equally comfortable working with unionized, excluded and management employees. I have been involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of major projects related to change for a variety of organizations. I have also taught consulting, change management and coaching skills for major corporations and government ministries.

I regularly deliver a program that I co-developed called Coaching for Engagement to clients with very positive reviews. Coaching for Engagement is a proprietary Tekara program focused on improving employee engagement through the use of coaching skills by leaders in the organization. We have delivered this program to government crown corporations and ministries, software companies, a production environment in the forest industry, and an engineering company. I have also worked internationally in India delivering coaching training to senior leaders from companies such as IBM, HCL Technologies and Ericsson. In May 2009, I will be going to China to deliver this program in Shanghai. I am currently co-authoring a book for leaders on coaching for engagement.

One client that I am particularly proud of working with is WestJet. I developed, taught and facilitated leadership courses and organizational transition sessions for them. While working with them I have worked as the Team Coach for the Executive Vice-President of Operations and his Executive Team who are responsible for over 5,000 employees. This year, again, WestJet won the award nationally in Canada for the best Corporate Culture.

I also teach quarterly in a program for mid-life leaders at the Ivey campus in London, Ontario involving participants from across Canada. This program forms part of the accreditation requirements for a Masters of Strategic Leadership from the Harrison School of Graduate Studies in the US.

Coaching

I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) having completed advanced training and certification in coaching with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) in 2001. This is the largest recognized coaching training school for ICF. I have over 3,000 coaching hours and have worked with hundreds of clients at all levels in organizations up to and including Board of Directors and CEO’s. I have coached internationally with clients across Canada, the US, Europe, China and India. I am a member of the International Coach Federation.

I have headed up large coaching interventions on behalf of Tekara in which we provided a coordinated coaching approach to over 140 leaders in a large crown corporation in BC.

In 2009, I was selected as one of the three finalists for Canadian Coach of the Year. The purpose of this award is to: a) promote excellence in coaching; (b) educate the coaching consumer regarding the importance of hiring and trained and competent coaching professional; c) inform the public about the great work that coaches are doing; and d) draw attention to the training and credentialing that personify a professional coach. All nominees were subject to a rigorous screening process of their peers; adjudicated and assessed based on specific criteria as outlined in the Nomination package. Education & Professional Development

In addition to my CPCC designation, I have postgraduate training in Applied Behavioural Sciences and an undergraduate degree in Education from UBC with concentrations in Phys Ed and Psychology.

I am a certified facilitator for Peter Senge’s Team Learning Lab. I have developed and implemented major change programs involving the William Bridges Transition model as well as using the Kotter and ODR methodology. I have taught change management theory to utilities, government and HR professionals in the software industry.

While perhaps not considered “formal” education, I worked internally almost 10 years ago within a Crown corporation in BC for 14 years where I was involved in field and corporate aspects of Human Resources and the business. I was involved in training and development, organization development, recruitment & selections, union & management relations as well as other generalist functions.
